The High School Experience dates are:
– 20 June 2019 (Term 2)
– 29 August 2019 (Term 3).
The thought of sending your child to “high school” can be quite daunting. Over the last 2 years our High School Experience Days for Year 6 students has been very successful and in this year we will extend the invitation to students in all our partner primary schools.
So, what are High School Experience Days? These days are an opportunity for every Year 6 student to experience 2 days at a High School. It is designed to introduce your child to a new context and experience some high school activities such as woodwork, cooking, textiles and doing science in a high school science lab! the aim is to allay any nervousness you and/or your child may have at this time.
Even if you are intending to continue your child’s education at another school, this experience is open to all Year 6 students in our area.
These will be followed up with more transition days toward the end of the year. There will also be a parent meeting for all parents on Thursday 29 August at 3pm in the Harvey Primary School Staff Hub. This will provide you with an opportunity to ask questions about secondary education and Harvey SHS.
In the meantime, if you wish to have a tour of our school, have any concerns or want to make general enquiries about secondary education, please do not hesitate to call the school on 9782 3800.
